Outcome of PUBLIC MEETING – 22 January 2019

Gwernaffield said NO!

To the Coppy Farm Housing Estate

It is imperative to raise awareness of this Planning Application in and around the village, recommend everyone to read the Planning Application and emphasise the need for as many letters of objection as possible to be sent to the County Council by the due date.

To this end we held a ‘PUBLIC MEETING’ on the evening of Tuesday 22 January, at the Gwernaffield Village Hall.

This was a Joint Meeting with the Community Council and the timetable was as follows:

6.30 pm PUBLIC MEETING – started with a presentation from Cadnant Planning – to outline the content of the Planning Application. Followed by our presentation – to highlight issues arising from it and explain how to object to it. The meeting was very well attended, especially as it was snowing, and lots of very pertinent points were raised by the audience. Thank you to all who attended and to those who contributed with questions and views.

7.30 pm (approx) COMMUNITY COUNCIL ‘SPECIAL’ MEETING – about the Coppy Farm Planning Application (public in attendance). After appropriate discussion and deliberation, the Community Council voted unanimously to oppose the Planning Application.

We hope you will continue to spread the word amongst your family, friends and neighbours that they must object to this Planning Application, for the reasons summarised in our presentation. Details of how to do this were handed out after the Public Meeting and have been added to this website – (see ‘How to Object’ part 1 -3 pages).

The Bromfield Planning Application for the ‘erection of 80 dwellings, convenience store and associated development’ has now been submitted to Flintshire County Council.

The full Planning Application is now on the Flintshire County Council’s planning page:
